Step by Step
I have seen many other blogs address this topic, and have enjoyed it. Here is my attempt. This painting was a commission I did awhile back. For those not familiar with the subject matter (i.e. anyone not from Texas), this painting is of a grocery store called H.E.B. and the grackle covered trees in front of it. Grackles are little blackbirds with a very loud presence. They number in the millions, or so it seems, and can be extremely annoying. Yet, they help make up the landscape of Texas, so, I enjoy them. Hope you do too.

Quick post before French class
A few months back a photographer friend of mine was nice enough to help me out. She took some nice photos of my work. The first one is a repeat from a previous post and although it is in an unfinished stage the colors are a lot more true to the original. The others are as follows: Saint Emilion, Chartres, Venice, Paris and Venice again.

Pro scan
I remembered last night that I had high quality scans of two drawings made some time back. It was done so as to make nice prints that could be auctioned off for charity (the local elementary art program). I decided to paint an original piece instead and had quite forgotten about these scans. I will have to try this for each page of my journal.

A few images
Here is a sampling of my work. The first is an oil painting of the architecture of Paris , the second is a pencil drawing of a street light on Ile de la Cite, and the third is an acrylic sketch from my travel journal of scaffolding surrounding the clock tower in Saint Antonin Noble Val. I have had trouble finding the best way to upload decent images. They seem to either come out faded and blurry or have glare.
I will keep trying to figure out more professional means at image quality.
